The Korea Music Content Industry Association recently announced that Girls' Generation is the first Korean girl group to have sold over 200,000 copies of their album. This week, Gaon announced that Girls Generation had sold over 227,994 copies of their 3rd album "The Boys," which placed them in 1st place for the month of October in terms of sales.

Following Super Junior and TVXQ in terms of sales, Girls' Generation takes 3rd place of most sold.

An official at Gaon said, "Popular idol stars have been selling more albums this year due to the K-Pop fever worldwide. We're presuming that it's because fans overseas are buying their albums through websites."

Meanwhile, Girls' Generation will be performing tonight on KBS Music Bank. Last night, Girls' Generation gained a triple crown on Mnet M! Countdown for "The Boys."
