(Translation) Mezamashi TV's feature of Kim Hyun Joong [12.01.30]

Trans by http://onlykhjtimes.blogspot.com / @OnlyKHJtimes

MC: This person is KHJ, who debuted as a solo (artist) in Japan.

He made a couple of surprise visits to CD shops in Tokyo, yet so many fans came to see him. His visits were a secret, and only Mezamashi TV followed him.

We will show you our exclusive video about him later.

MC: There’re big surprise events in Shibuya and Ginza yesterday.

A Hanryu (Hallyu) star, KHJ debuted as a solo the other day in Japan and made a surprise appearance in front of fans.

Girl: I saw him. He was handsome. Fufufufufu ~chego (good!)~

VO: The person whom the fans came to see was KHJ, who debuted as a solo the other day in Japan. He visited Shibuya and Ginza to promote his debut CD.

VO: His debut CD won 2nd spot on the Oricon daily ranking.

His visit was planned secretly but about 200 fans got the information from Twitter or etc (and gathered) in Shibuya.

VO: He was welcomed with great cheers by fans and left his autograph on his panel.

These fans who could shake hands with him were very lucky, as his stay was just only 1 min and 21 secs. He left like a storm and headed to Ginza.

KHJ: I feel that Japanese fans are very enthusiastic and their feelings (zeal/enthusiasm) to cheer me is big.

In fact KHJ has lived in Japan some years ago.

His favorite dishes since then…?

KHJ: The dishes I often eat are gyu-don, ramen, soba, and curry rice.

I especially like the curry and rice at CoCo Ichi (it’s the name of the shop).

He seems to like Japanese fast-food.

Then what is his favorite Japanese word?

KHJ: “Agepoyo”

Since I’ve debuted in Japan, everyday is “agepoyo” for me.

VO: His next visit with such an “agepoyo” feeling was a CD shop in Ginza.

There were double the number of fans compared with at Shibuya; about 500 agepoyo fans welcomed him.

VO: He’s called “rida” because he’s been a leader of SS501, which debuted in Korea, in 2005. After the event, so many fans were waiting for him to come out.

Fan1: “He is so handsome and cute and I’m really moved (that I could) meet him.

Fan2: “I really love him. He is the aunt’s (middle-aged women’s) longing (adoration).”

KHJ: I think I have to work harder (to meet the expectations from fans) in the future.

I also want to thank all the fans for coming to see me.

VO: KHJ had a stage on Mezamashi Live last summer and he had been very popular since then. There weren’t any announcement, but about 700 fans had gathered to see him.

Big Bang reveals official poster for ‘Big Show 2012′

After releasing a video teaser for their highly-anticipated concert, ‘2012 Big Show‘, the boys have finally unveiled their official poster!

On January 30th, YG Entertainment‘s official me2day account revealed this sleek poster for Big Bang’s annual event. The boys are all wearing fitted black suits, but each have a different flair to match their individual styles.

From left to right, we have Seungri, G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, and T.O.P. Seungri tapped into his “Strong Baby” charm with a classic suit, and added a floppy bowtie to reflect his dorky personality. Meanwhile, G-Dragon looks sharp in his velvet blazer with a tilted fedora.

Taeyang balanced his street-savvy mohawk with a sharp suit, while Daesung kept it simple with a plain jacket and a white tee. His stylist added a checkered scarf to add that ‘stand-out Big Bang’ element to his look.

Finally, we have rapper T.O.P., who wore a velvet jacket similar to G-Dragon’s. Unlike G-Dragon, however, he decided to run with a ‘gentleman’ look as opposed to ‘dapper’ for his style inspiration.

Big Bang’s ’2012 Big Show’ will be held at Olympic Park over a course of three days, from March 2nd to the 4th. Pre-sale tickets will be available exclusively through G-market starting January 31st.

JYJ’s documentary ‘The Day’ canceled 10 days before big screen premiere

Source & Image: Edaily via Nate

JYJ‘s documentary movie ‘The Day‘ has suddenly been canceled just 10 days before it’s official debut.

JYJ’s CJES Entertainment stated that it is due to CJ CGV breaching the contract which they are now appealing, and the fans who heard the news were also outraged.

On the 30th, CJES Entertainment reported through an official press release that JYJ’s ‘The Day’ movie debut has unfortunately been canceled, and are arguing that it is due to CGV breaching the contract due to unknown reasons.

“We have consulted them for over a month since last December and even signed the contracts on the 20th last month, but they informed us that because the contract was not approved by a final arbiter, the contract now needed to be initialized,” CJES reported.

CGV came to their own defense stating, “CJES went ahead and released the Press Release(s), letting the public know of the movie release even before the contracts were finalized.”

But according to CJES, CGV did not carry out the proper processes which made it quite difficult for the movie to air.

CJES called this senseless, and that they feel there were a lot of outside pressures and factors that were incorporated into their decision. “We can’t understand that they have canceled the contract after being denied boarding compensation, even though they had already agreed to everything in the PRs. The fact that they breached the contract after the PRs were released shows that a lot of outside pressures applied to their decision. They are abusing their position as a major franchise / entity that holds all the cards, and we will file this injustice with a civil complaint to the Fair Trade Commission and the Grievance Committee.”

Representative Baek Changjoo of CJES stated, “These senseless things are not in line with the law and happens to JYJ about 2-3 times a week. We don’t have the right nor the resources to fight against a large corporation, but we don’t want anyone else to become victim of this injustice, and therefore we will not hesitate or resign from fighting this case.”

JYJ fans and netizens alike are also showing their support. Fans on portal site Daum Agora are petitioning for CJ CGV to issue a clear explanation, and are even planning on boycotting the franchise.

In related news, the trailer for JYJ’s documentary ‘The Day’ had even aired on cable channel QTV last year, but was unfortunately canceled just a few days before it’s official big-screen release. JYJ is facing extreme difficulty performing on TV after leaving their former label, SM Entertainment.

Super Junior explains the origin of their greeting & ranks the top five dancers of the group

Source + Photo: Osen, Newsen
Credit : allkpop

Super Junior revealed the story behind their distinct style of greeting, as well as ranking their members in terms of dancing ability on Mnet’s ‘MIC’.

On the upcoming episode, leader Leeteuk revealed an interesting story behind their distinct style of greeting, “We are Super Junior” (with the special emphasis on the “or” syllable in “junior”).

For those of you who aren’t familiar with how the greeting came to be, Super Junior’s greeting style of placing an emphasis on one syllable was actually started by Boom, but popularized through Super Junior. Leeteuk lightheartedly explained, “Boom has transferred the copyright to our greeting. A contract was formed through an amicable settlement between the two parties. One of the conditions of the contract was that I would sacrifice myself for the rest of the members by becoming a student of Boom Academy.”

On the same episode, fellow member Kyuhyun made people laugh as he ranked the top five Super Junior members in terms of dancing ability. He confidently stated, “Since my dancing skills are ranked fifth, I want to try and create a performance-based unit… The ranking for dancing skills goes in the order of Eunhyuk, Donghae, Shindong, Sungmin, and fifth place was originally Leeteuk. But seeing as how he is doing these days, I think I can definitely be considered as fifth.”

The members also revealed that there was something big in store for this year. Leeteuk hinted, “In 2012, a surprising event will happen to Super Junior.” He also added, “I will promote as hard as I can to make sure I will have no regrets, and then enlist in the military.”

Lee Seung Gi receives flak for covering Yoo Seung Jun

KBS explained why Lee Seung Gi chose to sing Yoo Seung Jun‘s “Na Na Na” and “Passion” at the 2011 KBS Music Festival.

On January 2nd, a viewer sent in a complaint to KBS. The viewer was uncomfortable after seeing Lee Seung Gi perform songs by Yoo Seung Jun, a former singer who is now banned from entering the country after allegedly evading mandatory Korean military service by obtaining US citizenship.

The performance took place on December 20th, and the KBS staff members made their official statement on January 26th.

“We feel that a big part of being a stage producer is helping an artist exhibit all of their capabilities,” they said. “Lee Seung Gi wanted to display a completely different image from his image on TV, and prepared the two songs he enjoyed singing when he was younger- “Na Na Na” & “Passion”. These two songs were written by hit composers Kim Hyung Suk & Lee Hyun Do, and are widely known by the Korean public. We did our best to help him put on the greatest stage performance possible.”

In closing they added, “We regret that there was any misunderstandings amongst our viewers, and we will work to become a national broadcasting corporation that continues to produce programs that keep the public in mind.”

In related news, the songs that Lee Seung Gi sang at the KBS Music Festival were “Na Na Na” & “Passion” by former Korean superstar, Yoo Seung Jun. Unfortunately, the singer was accused of obtaining US citizenship to evade mandatory Korean military obligations and has been banned from entering the country. This took place in 2002. Yoo Seung Jun currently promotes in China.

MC Lee Seung Gi has admitted that he and his family act like strangers when they’re in public.

On January 24th, SBS aired the Lunar New Year special of ’Strong Heart‘, where celebrity guests and their siblings candidly revealed how they truly act around each other.

Super Junior‘s Leeteuk remarked that his brothers don’t like being seen with his sister, a sentiment echoed by MBLAQ‘s Mir. Mir also revealed that he’s envious of his sister’s success, and his sister (Go Eun Ah) admitted likewise. They also pretend to have no relation to one another when they go out.

Hilariously, Lee Seung Gi confessed that he too pretends that he and his family members are strangers when they’re in public. He explained, ”My family members don’t like being seen on TV. I’ve never revealed their faces to this day.”

“But at home, we have a really good relationship and we even hug a lot,” he said.

Laughing, Lee Seung Gi concluded his anecdote with: “As soon as we step out of our home, however, we become strangers. We make sure to step out the door one at a time.”

MBLAQ wants to work hard to be #1 in 2012

Source & Image : OSEN
Credit : allkpop

They are no longer just ‘the idols that Rain has put together‘, boy group MBLAQ has evolved and developed their own colors, stabilizing their place in the Korean music industry.

The boys received a lot of attention after debuting in 2009 for being the first idol group put together by singer Rain. Their mission was to work hard to appeal to the public, and become independent from their creator. And during the three years they have been in the industry, they have polished their own talents and charms. Member Lee Joon has been offered laughs with his wit on entertainment programs while G.O. showcased his explosive vocal talent on KBS 2TV‘s ‘Immortal Song 2‘, further representing for his boy group.

These boys released their new album ‘100% Version‘ on January 10th and unveiled their masculine charisma, especially with their ‘blade dance’ for their new song, “This is War“. The boys looked exhausted when OSEN caught up with them for an interview, but they looked sincere when they were introducing their new album.

Check out their interview below!

-Your new song is being met with a positive reaction.

“We feel great. This is the first title song we all chose unanimously. The song is about getting revenge, and we felt like a lot people wouldn’t be able to relate to it, but they were very supportive and we are very grateful (Seungho).”

-Lee Joon’s ‘gun shot’ performance seems to be the highlight of the choreography.

“We feel good about the performance. More than being satisfied with one major area of the dance, we like it because there’s a lot to see throughout the performance. There’s a lot of dramatic acting that went into it, and we knew that the one who could pull it off the best would be Lee Joon, and that’s why he took it on (Thunder).”

-This album was a project completely taken on by a producer. Are there any parts of the album the members worked on?

“This time, we completely left it up to the main producer. He gave us the songs for the album, but we felt that it was important for someone who saw us from a third person point of view to create our new look. But we did work on it a lot, too. We thought a lot about what we could do to pull off this new song, and thought a lot about the stage performance, talking a lot about the choreography (G.O.).”

-You guys recently started filming “Hello Baby”. How is your relationship with the children?

“It’s really arduous and exhausting. Haha. It might have been a little easier if they were a bit younger but the children know how to well express themselves and that somehow makes it a little more difficult. We are trying hard to introduce a bright and safe society for those children that grew up in a home with multiple cultures. I just hope that the show serves as an opportunity for these kids to see Korea in a different light, and break their prejudices (G.O.).”

-Is there a country you would like to break through in for the new year?

“Well, first we have 12 performances lined up for Japan and our Asia Tour. We’ve released a single in Japan before but we would be there to promote for maybe a week max. So we want to promote more in Japan and spend more time there. We’re so grateful that the Japanese fans give us so much support and love us for who we are, even though we haven’t dont much for them. I feel like we are united under the name of K-pop (Seungho).”

“I would like to debut in the Philippines. I used to live there, so I think I would be comfortable promoting there. I would also be able to see my friends. But it’s weird, it’s hard to get work there. I would also like to go to Europe. How awesome would it be to hold an independent MBLAQ concert there (laughs) (Thunder).”

-You released an album just in time for the new year, what are your goals for 2012?

“I don’t know what kind of image we have now, but what we want is to never disappoint when we are on stage and to do our best. I want our fans to be able to trust us. We would also like for all of us to be healthy and promote well together as a team. Lee Joon is really sick with the flu right now and work is really hard for him (Mir).”

-Lee Joon, this is your year, the year of the Dragon. Any special goals or plans this year?

“Yes, this is my year, the year of the Dragon. The Black Dragon at that! I would like to work hard this year so that at the end, people will say, ‘This was quite the year for MBLAQ member Lee Joon’. There are a lot of things we planned for this year, and we will carry them out, one by one. I am confident that we will not disappoint our fans (Lee Joon).”

-And any specific goals for MBLAQ as a whole?

“We want to work hard to be #1. But to do that, we all need to be healthy and not lose our focus. We will be sure not to disappoint our fans, and will continue to show you the best of MBLAQ (G.O.).”
