Korean rock band Galaxy Express is set to tour the USA next month, playing at the SXSW 2012 and the Valley of the Vapors Independent Music Festival.

Galaxy Express formed in 2006 as a trio consisting of guitarist and vocalist Park Jonghyun, bassist and vocalist Lee Juhyun, and drummer Kim Heekwon. They immediately attracted attention through their own sound, a blend of punk, garage rock and psychedelic sounds as well as their explosive performances.

After the release of their EPs "To the Galaxy" and "Ramble Around", Galaxy Express went on to receive the "Best Rock Album" award at the Korean Music Awards in 2009 for their first full length, and double album, "Noise on Fire". Their second album, dubbed "Wild 30", started out as a project in which the band took it to themselves to write, record and release their sophomore release in just 30 days. The album, "Wild Days", was eventually released after a month of hard work on March 1st, 2010. More recently, the band won "Musician of the Year" at the 2011 Korean Music Awards.

With various tours on their resume, as well as opening for Linkin Park's Seoul tour date last October, Galaxy Express is now set to play various gigs in the USA, starting March 9th till March 25th. The actual dates and venues will be finalized later this month.
