FT Island and its management agency filed a lawsuit against a cosmetic company for unlawfully using FT Island's photos in their merchandise. On the 27th of February, Seoul's Central District Court confirmed that FT Island has claimed DEREON Cosmetics used their images in cosmetic advertisements without any authorization and demanded a 200 million won worth of compensation.

The complaint handed by FT Island and FNC Entertainment's representatives stated, “The model contract with DEREON in Korea had already been concluded last April. But DEREON continued to use FT Island as models without authorization in Japan and recently, even in Malaysia and other Asia regions.”

Despite the contract already expiring, FNC Entertainment claimed that the company still used FT Island as models recently in South Korea. The unlawful use of its images urged the band and its agency to request a 200 million won compensation for the infringement of portrait rights.
