Singer and variety star MC Lee Seung Gi has announced that he will be advancing into the Japanese market early next year.

At his two-day concert at the Seoul Olympic Stadium, Lee Seung Gi revealed that he will be releasing a new Japanese album in March of 2012. “I’ll be using about two to three of the songs included in my fifth album to use in my promotions in Japan.”

The Japanese media has shown considerable interest in his advancement, with Sankei Sports reporting on December 12th, “Lee Seung Gi, a singer who is regarded as the little brother of the nation, will be signing on with a Japanese label and advancing as a singer into the market.” Various outlets also included his history as both a singer and actor.

Lee Seung Gi’s label houses singer-songwriter Kuwata Keisukei and actor/singer Fukuyama Masaharu. Using his singing experience as his base, Lee Seung Gi plans to expand on his acting and show hosting abilities in Japan as well.

In an interview with the Japanese press, he stated, “I’d love to go on a popular variety or music program in Japan, as well as hold live performances. Some day, I’d like to host a show that’s broadcast in both Korea and Japan at the same time.”
