CNBLUE becomes the first Korean artists to perform on MTV Japan's "Unplugged"

Korean band CNBLUE has become the first Korean artists to perform on MTV Japan's "Unplugged." On December 31 of last year, CNBLUE recorded acoustic performances in front of a live audience for MTV Japan's "Unplugged."

MTV "Unplugged" originated from the United States, where it first began airing in 1989. The show allowed artists to have close contact with their audience and give acoustic performance. Well-known artists such as Eric Clapton, Mariah Carey and Oasis has performed on MTV "Unplugged." Japan began their own version of "Unplugged" last year in July.

CNBLUE participated on MTV Japan's "Unplugged" as the first Korean artists on the show, and performed in front of 150 people, despite having over 15,000 applicants for tickets to the show; the rate being 100 times more than usual.

During the recording of the show, CNBLUE performed 12 songs including "Let's Go Crazy," "Try Again, Smile Again," "Kimio," and more. They also sang the acoustic version of their 1st major Japanese single, "In My Head." In addition, they also performed an acoustic version of their single "Where You Are," which was released on February 1st.

CNBLUE's 1st Japanese single "In My Head" sold over 100,000 copies last year and was awarded Gold certification by the RIAA of Japan.
