Girl group 2NE1 will be holding their first world tour called "New Evolution." They will be the nation's first girl group to do a world tour.

On June 13th, YG Entertainment stated, "2NE1 will be holding a two day concert at Seoul Olympic Stadium next month on the 28th and 29th. They are planned to do their tour starting in Korea before heading to America, Europe, and other countries, visiting 10 cities in 7 countries."

2NE1, who debuted in 2009, gained in popularity for every song that they had released. Last year MTV Iggy had chosen them as "The world's best rookie band." They have received much attention from domestic and foreign audiences.

Last year in particular, when 2NE1 had their first solo concert, they showed their powerful stage presence and performances that allowed the audience to sing along to their successful hit songs. The popularity of their concert followed all the way to Japan, where they made their debut in the country along with live arena tours attracting 70,000 fans.

2NE1 will be working together with Live Nation, a company that is also running Big Bang's current world tour. Through their worldwide network, skilled staff will be working together with 2NE1 on their own first world tour.

A representative of YG Entertainment said, "2NE1's world tour, 'New Evolution' will be presented with more advanced performances and members' skills, just as their world tour title states. Each and every one of the staff members have all worked with world class pop stars' concerts, and in the future we will be announcing them each." He continued, "Right now there are 10 cities in 7 countries planned. However, at the request of foreign officials after hearing about the world tour news, we will be adding more cities."
