With their first concert in China completed, Big Bang's sold out event at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai, was a complete success. All 10,000 seats were occupied by very enthusiastic Chinese fans.
When the group had arrived at Pudong Airport, it was estimated that about 2,000 fans showed up to greet them. Flash cards, posters, and banners written in Korean were brought in by the fans for the group. The fans also cheered for the staff members that accompanied the group.
The group expressed their desire to return to China at a press conference and said, "If we can finish touring China without any problems this year, we would like to meet our Chinese fans again next year. We also want to work with Chinese artists."
They also said, "We've been a group for six years and we want to connect with people from all over the world through music." Combining all their concert dates throughout China (July 21 in Shanghai, on July 28 in Guangzhou, and on August 4 in Beijing), Big Bang will be performing for a total of 30,000 fans in that country.
For the show in Shanghai, the K-pop idols performed 23 songs, including several of their hits like "Monster", "Still Alive", "Tonight", "Heaven", "Hands Up" and "Turn Back". Big Bang also presented a brand new wardrobe for their "Alive Galaxy Tour 2012". Many were pleased to see the members trying to communicate with the fans despite the language barrier and chants for an encore filled the arena.
