Last week, JYJ announced that they will embark on their first South American tour.
Ticket sales opened up on January 12th and were almost sold out that very day.
On January 15th, JYJ’s agency C-JeS Entertainment stated, “Last Thursday, we began selling tickets for the tour in South America and right when we opened the window, we sold 80% of the 5,000 seats in Chile and Peru.”
JYJ chosen special section names to reflect some of their works. Fans could choose between ‘The Beginning’, ‘Be the One’, and ‘Be My Girl’, with ‘In Heaven – VIP’ being the seats closest to the stage. Reportedly, fans camped overnight to buy the VIP tickets.
The Korean pop trio is impressing local media as well. Peru’s El Comercio news published an article that read, “[It's] Not Justin Bieber nor Miley Cyrus, but Korean group JYJ who has set the record for ticket sales”.
El Commercio continued, “JYJ are Korean singers that you cannot see or listen to on MTV or the radio, and you cannot purchase their CDs in Peru; nevertheless, they set a huge record. In only 30 minutes, thousands of fans gathered to buy their concert tickets and we can see just how truly popular they are.”
JYJ will be holding their concerts in Chile and Peru on March 9th and 11th.
