The results for Yahoo Japan‘s foreign keyword search ranking were dominated by Korea’s K-POP artists.
Yahoo Japan recently released data for the top searched terms in 2011 for male entertainers, female entertainers, and sport athletes. From the list of 20, a whopping 18 spots were filled by Koreans.
The ranking took the aggregate data from search queries on Yahoo Japan from January 1st to October 31st. Out of the top 20, only Lady Gaga at #5 and Avril Lavigne at #17 were non Koreans.
SNSD, who won “Artist of the Year“ at the 2011 MAMA‘s took the top spot on the ranking. They were followed up by KARA at #2 and TVXQ at #3. Rounding out the top 10 were: Jang Geun Suk at #4, Lady Gaga at #5, Big Bang at #6, Super Junior at #7, Kim Hyun Joong at #8, FT Island at #9, and 2PM at #10.
