Super Junior will be delaying their fan signing event due to the Bolaven typhoon that’s hitting South Korea.

SM Entertainment announced on August 28 KST, “Due to the Bolaven typhoon, Super Junior arrived one day later than planned at Incheon airport on August 28 at 6AM.” The group had previously traveled to China for a fan sign event in Guangzhou.

A representative stated, “Originally, the event was to be held in Seoul at a small music store on August 28 at 5PM, but considering the typhoon, it’s been delayed to September 5 in order to prevent any accidents.”

In other news, member Shindong will finally be making a return to MBC Radio‘s ‘Shindong’s Shimshim Tapa‘.

B1A4 donates 140kg of rice to children in need

B1A4 has donated 140kg (309 lbs) of rice to SOS Children’s Village located in Seoul thanks to fans.

The rice, donated on August 27 KST, was given as a gift to member Sandeul for his appearance in the musical ‘Brothers were Brave‘ this past June as well as for the launch of the group’s series ‘B1A4′s Hello Baby‘ in July.

The team leader from SOS Children’s Village stated, “We’re now able to offer warm rice to the children. I want to thank B1A4′s fan club.”

JYJ's Junsu wraps up Asia solo tour

After recently completing his first solo Asia tour, JYJ's Junsu discussed with the press his concerns about going solo. During a press conference in Hong Kong that was held at the Renaissance Conference Room on August 25th, he shared his reasons for not performing as a solo artist sooner.

C-Jes Entertainment shared on August 26th what Junsu had said at the conference, "I hesitated to release a solo album at first because of many bad conditions, but I gained confidence while I was on a world tour after releasing the solo album..."

He also discussed aspects of his new English single, "Uncommitted".

"Before going on a world tour, I wanted to give a special gift to my fans all around the world, so I made 'Uncommitted' with the famous American composer Automatic. Because English is a global language, I chose to sing the song in English, but this R&B urban pop song sounds better in English... I won’t stop challenging as XIA."

At the press interview, between 50 to 60 different media sources were in attendance. The reporters listened attentively and Junsu expressed how he felt about the city of Hong Kong.

"I was excited to see the beautiful night view of Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a very friendly city, and I thank you so much for coming to see me. I’m so happy to hold the last concert of my Asian tour in Hong Kong."

Kim Hyungjun successfully completes Japanese tour "KIM HYUNGJUN 2012 2nd Story in Japan"

S Plus Entertainment, which represents Kim Hyungjun, reported on August 28th that the singer's recent Japanese tour was a complete success. "Escape" is the singer's second Japanese EP and to celebrate the special occasion, the tour was created. This EP was his first release in a year and four months.

Kim Hyungjun visited several cities throughout Japan with the first event kicking off on August 3rd in Tokyo. He then went on to Fukuoka, Osaka and Nagoya for the "Kim Hyungjun 2012 2nd Story in Japan." For the concerts he performed various songs from the soundtracks of the dramas "Glowing She" and "Late Blossom." Also featured in the set list was "Sorry, I’m Sorry," the lead track of the new EP.

Fans of 2PM will unfortunately have to wait a bit longer for the group’s comeback.

2PM previously mentioned news of a September comeback. However, due to the recent controversy surrounding member Nichkhun, 2PM had to stand on stage as a five-member group during the ‘JYP Nation‘ concerts and also had to juggle changes to their comeback date.

Nichkhun halted his activities to take some time to reflect on himself before returning to his fans and the public. A fixed comeback date has not been decided as of yet.

Super Junior's 6th album exceeds 330,000 copies sold in July

After being on hiatus for nearly a year, "Music Kings" Super Junior released their 6th studio album, "Sexy, Free & Single," which has been reported to have sold over 330,000 copies.

Gaon Chart recently revealed the monthly album ranking for July, which revealed Super Junior's album sold 335,744 copies, taking the #1 chart. Super Junior member Kangin participated in this latest album, his first appearance with the group in three years since 2009.

Last year, Super Junior sold over 500,000 copies of their 5th album, "Mr. Simple" (sales combined with repackaged album).

Following in 2nd is BEAST with "Midnight Sun," which sold 67,835 copies. 2PM's Wooyoung placed in 3rd with his first solo album, "23, Male, Single," selling 52,618 copies.

T-ara ranks as the highest selling girl group for July with their mini-album "Day By Day" selling 34,181 copies to take 4th place. After a two-year hiatus, PSY returned with "6甲 Part 1," selling 32,309 copies. Also returning after 2 years, BoA was recorded to have sold 28,576 copies of her 7th studio album, "Only One," ranking in 6th place.

For the July-monthly Download Music Chart, 2NE1 tops the chart with "I Love You," recording 1,522,263 downloads, taking the title as "Music Queens."

T-ara's Eunjung to appear at the press conference for "Five Fingers"

Previously, it was reported that T-ara member Hyomin would appear publicly for the first time after the T-ara incident. Now joining her will be member Eunjung as well, who will attend the press conference for the drama, "Five Fingers".

T-ara's Soyeon reported to have sustained minor injuries in car accident and sent to hospital

T-ara's Soyeon has been reported to be sent to the emergency room after a car accident.

Sports Chosun reports that Soyeon was traveling to Busan after shooting for her drama, "Haeundae Lovers," at approximately 7AM KST when her car lost control and hit the guard rail twice before flipping over. The reason for the crash is said to be due to the poor road conditions caused by the rain.

Two stylists were also in the car with Soyeon, and all three were taken to the hospital to undergo a CT and X-Ray scan. Core Contents Media released a statement stating that the crash was due to the rain and that "[the] incident seems bigger than we anticipated [due to the car flipping over]. The 199 (Korean 911) response team has transported everyone to the emergency room."

They continued on to reassure fans that Soyeon has only suffered "minor injuries," and that she will be canceling her filming schedule, undergoing full testing at the hospital before resuming.

Girl’s Generation YoonA and Lee Min Ho team up again for Eider

JYJ’s Junsu releases album jacket cover and tracklist for ‘UNCOMMITTED’

Earlier this week, JYJ‘s Junsu announced that he would be releasing a new English single titled ‘UNCOMMITTED‘ in lieu of a repackaged album for his first solo album.

On August 9th, C-JeS Entertainment updated their official website with a new album jacket cover for the single along with the official tracklist. The single will include a 32 page booklet of picorial photos and lyrics of the songs.

As previously revealed, the single is the work of Sony Music composer Bruce Automatic Vanderveer and also includes an English version of his previous title track, “Tarantallegra“.

There’s barely a week left until the pilot episode airs, and the drama’s already being chalked up to be one of the freshest love stories to hit the small screen in a while thanks to its all star cast of teen idols. Jang Geun Suk to become the first Korean star to be featured on special postage stamps in Japan

Jang Geun Suk will be the first Korean star ever to have his own set of postage stamps by the Japanese post!

In celebration of his 20th debut anniversary, the Japanese Post will be selling official postage stamp sets specially commemorating the event. It’s hard to believe that someone only in his 20′s is already 20 years into his career, but his stamp set will celebrate just that with special photos looking back on his career.

Pre-orders for the stamps will begin on August 20th through post offices nationwide. Pictures in the set will include everything from his youth to his teens and divided into two sets called ’1st History’ and ’2nd History’. The set comes in a special folder package that includes customized postcards, envelopes, and stickers, along with never-before-released pictures of the star.

JYJ Kim Jae Joong revealed the meaning of his tattoo on his left chest

The member of Korean popular male group, JYJ, said that the tattoo on his chest means to always keep his beliefs.

He said, “I design the tattoo. I went to tattoo it with Yoo Chun 2 years ago. I might lose everything I have now one day but I should keep to my beliefs till the end.”

Besides the tattoo on his chest, he tattooed the names of his members on his back.

He explained, “Some people said I will regret one day for tattooing my members’ name. But I don’t think so. Now, no matter how busy I am, I will always think that my members are with me together and everytime it would remind me how important are they.

Next, he also revealed that he would never tattoo a girl’s name, including his wife.

Jang Geun Suk donates 7.1 tons of rice to the less fortunate

‘Asia’s Prince’ Jang Geun Suk made a generous donation of 7.1 tons of rice thanks to his fans.

The rice was previously presented to Jang Geun Suk by his fans in an effort to cheer him on at the ‘Love Rain‘ press conference. The actor has now donated the rice to be used towards helping the less fortunate in the Gangnam region of Seoul.

The neighborhood reported that they received the donation on August 8th, and the ‘Visiting Mobile Food Market‘ will be going door to door to deliver the rice to poorly fed children, senior citizens living alone, as well as the severely disabled.

Jang Geun Suk decided to donate the rice after hearing that although there are a lot of people in the Gangnam area who live in difficult situations, not a lot of help is given to the area because it’s known to be a posh and wealthy community for the most part.

“You must give back as much as you have been loved, and that’s why I started donations,” he said. “I will be sure to continue sharing and giving, instead of making this a one-time deal.”

JYJ preparing to release new album in 2013

JYJ members Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu are scheduled to make their way to Los Angeles in the United States soon. They have been confirmed that they are meeting with local officials regarding their next album.

With JYJ beginning preparations for their new album, the members will find themselves quite busy as they are in the middle of their solo and drama activities. Following the end of their solo activities, the trio are planning to take a well-deserved vacation.

Kim Jaejoong is currently starring in the MBC drama, "Dr. Jin," while Kim Junsu is set to perform in Hong Kong on August 26th as part of his 1st solo Asia tour, "XIA 1st Asia Tour Concert."

JYJ's agency, C-JeS Entertainment, said, "Ever since JYJ released its worldwide album with Kanye West, it’s been aiming to hold a full world tour. Its aim also means that it’s leaning toward working on an album in the U.S. market. That’s why the members visit officials in the country and invite them to JYJ’s world tour concerts.”

Many officials have been confirmed to have been invited to JYJ's South American concert by C-JeS.

Meanwhile, JYJ is set to record their new album and release it early next year. Kim Junsu will be undergoing his first world tour, visiting North and South America, and Europe. He will also release his English single, "Uncommitted," which was composed by Sony Music composer, Bruce ‘Automatic’ Vanderveer.

JYJ Jaejoong discusses JYJ’s teamwork

After the last shooting for MBC‘s ’Time Slip Dr.Jin‘, JYJ‘s Jaejoong held an interview at a cafe in Gangnam where the veteran idol shared his two-cents on the recent controversies regarding teamwork within idol groups. He commented, “Honestly there aren’t any idol groups that do not have problems.”

Jaejoong added, “Idol groups are not family either. Plus when there are many members, there are bound to be members who are closer and connect better with each other than others. Having problems within a team is inevitable.”

He also revealed how JYJ sustains such a strong bond with one another. He stated, “We definitely talk about the good things, but we also talk about the bad things,” and added, “Eric hyung recently posted a picture of Shinhwa on Kakaotalk, and when I commented, ‘It’s good to see you guys together, it’s really cool,’ he answered, ‘We are pretending like we are close.’ I think the reason he can say something like that so freely is because they are really close. Our members are kind of like that too.”

The idol star expressed his affection towards his members, adding, “When all three of us are together, it feels complete. I’m full of confidence (when I’m with them). It’s better together than alone, so when I’m going to try harder than I did when I was alone.”

CNBLUE unveils music video for new Japanese title track

K-pop rock band CNBLUE has revealed the music video for the new title tune of their first full-length Japanese album, “CODE NAME BLUE.”
The group unleashed the music video for “Time is over” online Tuesday, which is about three weeks before dropping the record on August 29. [Please check the video HERE]
The four members have shown their manly look in the video featuring four members’ jam session in a studio.
“I’ve put in a lot of special efforts because the song is listed in our first-ever studio album in Japan. I hope the song touches the hearts of people who need our music and refresh them,” CNBLUE’s leader Jung Yong-hwa, the song’s composer and writer, was quoted as saying.

Including tunes in “CODE NAME BLUE,” Jung has wrote a total of 17 songs this year so far, including his labelmates Juniel’s “Stupid” and girl group AOA’s “Love is only you.”
More surprisingly, the talented group’s “One Time” was used for the background music of American channel WPSD-TV’s morning news program Local 6 last Friday.
While a reporter delivered the news about American national team winning gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics, the song raised more excitement with CNBLUE’s strong guitar sounds.
“One Time,” the rocking title tune of their first Japanese single “The Way,” was released on June of 2010, and the Korean version was listed in the first domestic full-length album “FIRST STEP” dropped on March of 2011.

JYJ display their sweet and charming sense of humor for a recent ‘NII’ photo shoot

Idol group JYJ displayed their comical sense of humor.

The members who are currently endorsing clothing brand NII struck a few comical poses for the brand’s autumn line photo shoot.

The shoot took place in early July, and the concept was for the boys to mentally write an entry in the secret diary they each had when they were younger, and to express their personal stories through honest facial expressions.

With the help of a few unique props, the boys were able to efficiently display lovely and sweet facial expressions that would easily chase away the blues that Fall often brings.

Despite being exhausted from pulling off a hectic and jam-packed schedule, the boys showed no signs of fatigue and kept themselves as well as the staff members amused throughout the entire shoot.

Both the NII representatives and photographer Hong Jang Hyun who led the photo shoot were both extremely pleased with the results, and remarked that the members well displayed the essence of the brand.

Lee Min Ho reveals his first impression of co-star Kim Hee Sun

Actor Lee Min Ho, who has taken the lead role for the upcoming SBS drama ‘Faith‘, revealed his first impression of co-star Kim Hee Sun.

Reporters of SBS’s ‘Good Morning‘ visited the set of the drama’s poster photo shoot and had the opportunity to briefly interview the two stars.

Lee Min Ho shared some of the hardships he’s been facing during the drama filming when he revealed, “Despite the hot weather, I have to wear layers of clothes and wear the armor on top of it all during the filming. But, I will do my best even if my body may falter due to the heat.”

When asked about his first impression of Kim Hee Sun, Lee Min Ho complimented her natural beauty. “Like everybody else, I also think she’s pretty. She doesn’t look her age.”

“I’ve been partnered with older actresses for my previous projects, but she is the most energetic despite being the oldest actress I have been paired with.”

SBS’s ‘Faith’ will air its first episode on the 13th.

The short 38-second trailer reveals hints of the stages Blackjacks worldwide will experience in the upcoming concerts, as they were recorded from their opening concerts in Seoul nearly two weeks ago.

Kim Hyunjoong donates 50 million won to charity

"Kim Hyun Joong Powerful S. My Club" made a 10 million won donation to the Beautiful Foundation on August 1st. After learning of this, Kim Hyunjoong then provided a 50 million won donation to the same organization on August 3rd. Beautiful Foundation is a non profit organization that assists senior citizens that live alone.

Representatives of the Beautiful Foundation said, "Kim Hyunjoong came back to Korea on August 2nd after finishing his fan meeting tour of Asia. He heard the news that his fan club made a donation to help needy people and decided to donate fifty million won, touched by his fan club members who participated in the good work."

The executive director of the Beautiful Foundation, Kim Mikyung, surprised by the idol's gesture, stated, "There were many fan clubs who joined their celebrities’ good work, but it’s unusual for a celebrity to respond to his or her fan club’s donation. It proves that Korea’s fandom culture has become very mature along with the culture of donation."

The money will be divided by the Beautiful Foundation and used to contribute to different causes. 30 million won will be used to help the senior citizens and 20 million will be used to contribute to college students.

Korea included MBLAQ, Tiger JK & Yoon Mi-rae, SISTAR, Teen Top, ZE:A, Ailee, and B1A4 and Brave Guys.

Kim Hyun Joong performed some of his hits including “Lucky Guy” and “Do You Like That.”

A total of 14 artists from six countries were featured in the festival.

Japan sent Aqua Timez, which is known for its participation in the soundtrack of the popular Japanese drama, “Gokusen.”

Other Asian singers who performed were Wei Chen of China, Fann Wong of Singapore, Candy Mafia of Thailand and Lin Yoga of Taiwan, who won the Rookie of the Year in the 2008 Asia Song Festival.

Kim Hyun Joong recently finished his fan meeting in Thailand. He previously visited Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.

The singer touched the hearts of his fans when he donated 50 million won (P1.84 million) to Beautiful Foundation in Korea. He made the donation after learning that his fan club donated 10 million won (P369,000) to the foundation to help the elderly.

According to reports, Kim Hyun Joong made the donation to the Beautiful Foundation on Aug. 3, a day after he came back to Korea.

Of the 50 million won that the singer donated, 30 million won (P1.1 million) will be for senior citizens who live alone and the remaining 20 million (P737,000) will be for college scholarship fund.

The Asia Song Festival was co-hosted by the Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange and Yeosu Expo Organizing Committee and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korea Tourism Organization, and Asiana Airlines.
