JYJ’s Junsu successfully concludes the musical, ‘Elizabeth’

JYJ‘s Junsu has successfully completed his third musical, ‘Elizabeth‘, amidst standing ovations and tears.

Playing the character of ‘Death’, Junsu performed a total of 32 times for the musical, selling out seats within 10 minutes of pre-sale tickets going on sale. With his history of records, stable acting, and singing talents, he’s managed to create a new name for himself as a musical actor.

Composer Sylvester Levay of ‘Elizabeth’ commented, “Kim Junsu’s ability to lead each scene was amazing, and his interpretation of his character was nothing short of charming. He’s an actor who knows what perfection on stage means.”

Music director Kim Moon Jung added, “I was surprised by the level of detail he put into his movements. He’s a prodigy of musicals.”

For the final performance of the musical on May 2nd, Junsu commanded the stage for the entire 160 minutes, captivating the audience with his charisma. His ability to accurately express happiness, sadness, and anger brought out a standing ovation from the 1,700 audience members.

Following the completion of his performance, Junsu expressed, “I feel that it was luck that I was offered ‘Elizabeth’. It’s a personal honor for me to have created an amazing work such as this with our nation’s top stars, and I learned a lot from the experience. I’d like to thank our audience members who filled up the seats from the first day to the last.”

In related news, Junsu is currently preparing for the release of his first solo album, ‘Tarantallegra‘.

Kim Hyun Joong receives a warm welcome in Singapore for his ‘Fan Meeting Tour 2012′

On May 2nd, Kim Hyun Joong left for Singapore, the first stop of his ‘Fan Meeting Tour 2012‘, and was greeted by thousands of fans that paralyzed the airport!

As a rising singer and actor of Asia, many fans were anticipating his new fan meet tour following the success of his last Asian promotions. Upon hearing that he would be arriving in Singapore, thousands of fans gathered with presents and placards to watch the star as he entered through the gates.

Happy to greet them, he responded to their support with smiles and waves.

In the press conference that followed, he showed his confidence in the success of his tour and answered personal questions as honestly as possible. Several local media outlets followed him closely, capturing preparation details and his feelings about the tour.

Kim Hyun Joong will be kicking off his first stop of the ‘Fan Meeting Tour 2012′ at the Singapore Indoor Stadium with hit track performances on May 4th.

2PM dominates the hit model chart on TVCF

2PM has swept the endorsement model ranking chart of Korea’s greatest advertisement portal site.

Advertisement portal site TVCF recently revealed their hit model chart, and the 1st place spot went to 2PM, 2nd Nichkhun, 3rd Taecyeon, 5th Wooyoung, 6th Junho, 7th Chansung, and 9th Junsu. With 7 out of the top 10 spots held by 2PM, some say that they have taken over the chart. Last December’s ranking was 1st Nichkhun, 2nd 2PM, and 10th Taecyeon, and this recent chart shows that since then, the 2PM members have become more in-demand commercial models.

TVCF’s model ranking is done daily using all the commercials aired in the past twelve months.

On top of dominating 7 spots out of 10 on the hit chart, they also ranked on the ‘average ranking chart’ with 2PM ranking 3rd, Taecyeon ranking 5th, and Nichkhun coming in at 6th. 2PM has shown their power, proving that they are currently some of the most loved advertisement models in the nation.

JYP Entertainment stated, “2PM’s various images and activities have gotten them many love calls from advertisement agencies. On top of that, each member has their own unique color so individual members are gaining interest as well.”

On another note, 2PM is currently preparing for the ‘Budokan 6 days‘ concert in Japan, which is scheduled for the end of May. The concert is expected to pull in an audience of 90,000.

CNBLUE‘s Kang Minhyuk may be a womanizer in the new weekend drama ‘You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly‘, but his fellow members say he couldn’t be more different in real life.

The members of CNBLUE described him as, “A guy I would introduce to my little sister,” and “Someone who accommodates to others’ needs,” adding that he does not have a single cheating bone in his body.

Kang Minhyuk had previously confessed, “Different from my character in the drama, I am only accommodating to others when I want to be. I wasn’t very popular when I was in school. I’m learning the secrets of being a player as I film this drama.”

Fellow bandmate Jungshin added that Minhyuk was a “deep guy that cares a lot about the people around him,” while Yonghwa and Jonghyun said, “He is extremely prudent and thoughtful.”

Taetiseo tops Japanese pre-sale charts

Girls’ Generation‘s sub-unit group Taetiseo‘s explosive popularity shows no signs of letting up.

Taetiseo’s mini album ‘Twinkle‘ has been at the #1 spot for Tower Record‘s pre-sales rankings for 3 straight days in a row, and ranked #2 on the daily chart. Also, on HMV‘s pre-sales ranking chart, Taetiseo comes in at #4, revealing Japanese fans’ immense interest in the trio. The Japanese media, such as Inno Life, are reporting, “It’s enough with even just 3 members. International fans’ interest in Girls’ Generation’s Taetiseo is huge.”

As reported previously, Taetiseo revealed ‘Twinkle’ on April 29th through various outlets such as iTunes and other music sites. In addition to achieving an all-kill on the music sites, they also topped the Japanese iTunes album chart, while ranking #4 on the U.S. and Australian iTunes album charts, and #5 on Canada’s iTunes album chart.

Taetiseo will reveal their first performance for “Twinkle” on May 3rd through Mnet‘s ‘M!Countdown‘.

Boyfriend’s Hyunseong reveals OST track for ‘The King 2 Hearts’

Boyfriend‘s Hyunseong has gotten some solo time as he was recently able to record an OST track for the popular drama, ‘The King 2 Hearts‘.

His track, “Only You”, is the theme song for Lee Yoon Ji and Cho Jung Suk‘s love line with its straight forward lyrics and the singer’s smooth vocals.

DRM Media, who is in charge of the OST for the drama, stated, “Hyunseong was able to express the love between the two people through his stable and strong vocals.”

Big Bang launches airplane

On April 30th in Korea, Big Bang took flight; literally, in the form of a special airplane that is part of the Jeju Air fleet.

The plane, hosting a massive Big Bang decal along the back, had its first flight between Gimpo and Jeju. The plane will fly 12 different routes between five countries (Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines).

Jeju Air will be sponsoring Big Bang on their Asia tour, and they are hoping in turn that having Big Bang tied in with their company will strengthen their global image.

Big Bang will be flying with Jeju Air for all of the stops on their Asia tour, which starts in May.
