[Info|Review|Photos]CNBLUE at COUNTDOWN Japan by ROCKIN’ ON

Source: Rockin’ On
Translated by: T @ cnbluestorm

CNBLUE is a rock band appearing at COUNTDOWN JAPAN for the first time, and it consists of one member at 22, another at 21 and the other two at 20.

The first song “Mr.KIA (Know It All)” started with Jung YongHwa (vocal & guitar)’s first word, “Come on!”. At the end of the song, each members gave greetings in Japanese, followed by the second song “Rain of Blessing” and the third song “Illusion”. For your information, these three songs’ lyrics are in English, Japanese & English, and English & Japanese.

After that Jung YongHwa said, “I’m glad to spend the year end and new year with all these cool artists,” as they steered their direction at a burst from pop taste to heavy rock taste with “Just Please” that started with a shout “..our rock numbers. Let’s go!”

The performance has been with twin vocal of Jung YongHwa and Lee JongHyun (vocal & guitar), and their profile at official website states so as well, but for this song the bassist Lee JungShin did some rap too. Moreover, he has been singing too, so they’re practically triple vocal.

With keeping the momentum, they went to “One Time” and “I Don’t Know Why”. Then they went back a little to pop style with the next song “Kimio”, and they increased the temperature in the floor to the max. Then Kang MinHyuk (drummer) said,”Thank you. Thanks to everyone, this was really fun. Let’s rock and get excited in next year too”, and they finished their performance with “In My Head” that was just released in October. Both of their pop element and heavy element infused together in this killer tune.

It was really a “flexible” live performance. How interesting, this band is.

Jang Geun Suk recently made headlines for donating $1.2 million USD to his university, Hanyang University. Earlier this month, he’s been revealed to have donated yet another $30,000 USD.

The $30,000 was split three times, with $10,000 USD being given to a different organization, such as one for an orphanage in Kangnam and the other for a briquette delivering organization sponsored by NGO.

The orphanage in Kangnam was actually in dire need of the support, as not only is it the only orphanage in Kangnam, but is also poorly faciliated. Up until October, they had used a gas boiler to heat the building before organizations chipped in to reconstruct the place. Unfortunately, funds weren’t enough to complete the project.

Upon hearing their case, Jang Geun Suk covered the remaining fees and helped the orphanage complete the construction, allowing the kids to spend a healthy, warm winter.

On December 28th, his agency expressed, “After hearing about the orphanage, Jang Geun Suk-ssi worried a lot about the safety of the children. He wanted to help in any of the little ways he could and delivered the donation to them. He’s glad that they’re all warm and safe and is actually thankful to them.”

Why isn’t IU holding a concert of her own?

Source: OSEN
Credit : allkpop

IU is one of the most-wanted guests for year-end concerts this year, but many are starting to wonder why this highly-successful artist isn’t holding a concert of her own.

IU has never hosted a solo concert, even though it’s been three years since her debut. Her achievements and large fanbase could easily allow her to organize one, but IU has decided to take it slow.

A related representative informed OSEN on December 27th that “IU thinks it’s not time yet. She would like to show a concert more complete than the one she would show now. Her schedule is packed with album promotions for ‘Last Fantasy‘ as well as preparations for next year’s Japanese debut. If she were to have a solo concert, it would be sometime next year.”

One thing’s for sure — when IU does decide to announce a solo concert, tickets will sell out like hotcakes.

[Article] Background Story: Kim Hyun Joong’s Love Briquette Donation

Original link: http://www.lovecoal.org/gboard/bbs/b…ty01&wr_id=487
Note: The Bureau of Love Briquette is a well-known non-governmental charity organisation in Korea.
Translated by: @heneciajin
Edited by: OKT @OnlyKHJtimes

This little story was shared by the Bureau of Love Briquette on their blog today:

Early last November, a person came here and handed us a white envelope from Kim Hyun Joong.

At first, I thought I saw it was 5 million won, but when I looked closely into the envelope again, I realised it was actually 50 million won. We were shocked by the amount and so questioned him in detail. He said that Kim Hyun Joong was deeply touched by what he saw during his briquette donation last year (OKT: remember when he personally delivered the pieces?) he promised that he would do it again this year. But he was too busy to do it again this time because of his overseas schedule.

So he was really sorry about that and he promised to take part in the delivery next year. He asked us to distribute the 50 million won to those senior citizens who live alone and in poor neighbourhoods. Also, he asked us not to say anything to the media about this donation so we couldn’t post this story on our homepage. But today, there was a news article out. Maybe the Red Cross revealed it.

I was thinking since the story was out already, I wanted to post it here too.
Kim Hyun Joong’s beautiful coal donation will be delivered well. I wish that we would be able to deliver it together with him next year…

JYJ has expressed their gratitude for their C-JeS Entertainment CEO Baek Chang Joo in the form of a hefty gift!

On December 26th, an industry insider revealed that the trio had presented the CEO with a foreign luxury sedan estimated to be worth over $300,000 USD.

A representative of JYJ revealed, “Last weekend, we held our year-end party. After finishing the meal, we went out to discover a luxury sedan parked outside. The members wanted to show their gratitude for his support by coming together and pooling money for a new car.”

The representative continued, “JYJ and CEO Baek have known each other for two years, and they’ve been like brothers ever since. I believe it was a present to commemorate the success of their world tour, as well as a celebration of Christmas and the New Year.
